Order restored at Turkish refugee camp

A disturbance at a Syrian refugee camp in Turkey was quelled this weekend after security reinforcements were called in, authorities said.

The trouble began when the Syrians protested the arrival of about 1,500 Turkmen refugees at the Gaziantep camp, the Dogan news agency said Sunday.

Hundreds of Syrians took a number of Turkish police officers hostage and replaced the Turkish flag at front entrance with a Syrian flag.

Buildings and vehicles at the camp were damaged before additional security troops arrived and restored order.
