Olympic Medal: W K2 500 Canoeing

Franziska Weber and Tina Dietze of Germany won the Olympic gold medal Thursday in women’s double kayaking over 500 meters.

The silver went to Katalin Kovacs and Natasa Janics-Douchev of Hungary. Kovacs was part of Hungary’s gold medal winning effort on Wednesday in the kayaking fours.

Poland’s Karolina Naja and Beata Mikolajczyk took the bronze.
