Murray misses Scottish victory parade

Andy Murray, who won an Olympic gold medal for Scotland, apologized for being absent from the country”s Friday parade to honor Olympians.

Murray, who won the gold in men”s singles and a silver in the mixed doubles, had said previously he would not be able to attend the Glasgow parade Friday afternoon alongside cyclist Chris Hoy and rower Katherine Grainger, Sky News reported Friday.

Murray, who won the U.S. Open Monday, apologized for his absence from the parade and said he hopes to visit Scotland next week to thank his countrymen for their support.
