MLB: Cincinnati 6, Milwaukee 2
Ryan Ludwick’s two-run homer capped a decisive first inning Saturday and the Cincinnati Reds rode the early outburst to a 6-2 victory over Milwaukee.
After Jay Bruce delivered an RBI single and Scott Rolen added a sacrifice fly for a quick 2-0 lead, Ludwick lined a 3-1 pitch into the second deck in left field, scoring Bruce ahead of him.
Brandon Phillips added a two-run clout for the National League Central-leading Reds, who clinched their three-game series.
Bronson Arroyo (5-6) earned the victory, stifling the Brewers on two runs over six full innings. The Reds right-hander struck out six, surrendered five hits and walked two.
Milwaukee starter Yovani Gallardo (8-7) was touched for four runs on nine hits over 5 2/3 frames.
Corey Hart managed the Brewers’ only RBI.
