Janowicz in quarterfinals of Kremlin Cup

Jerzy Janowicz of Poland upset seventh seed Carlos Berlocq Thursday to advance to the quarterfinals of the Kremlin Cup in Moscow.

Janowicz, ranked 74th in the world, downed Berlocq 6-3, 6-4 in a second round match and will play No. 4 seed Thomaz Bellucci in the quarters. Moscow is the third straight tournament in which Janowicz has reached the quarterfinals.

In other second round action, No. 2 seed Andres Seppi beat Igor Sijsling 7-5. 6-2 and fourth-seeded Bellucci advanced by defeating Flavio Cipolla, 6-4, 6-1.

No. 1 seed Alexandr Dolgopolov was battling Edouard Roger-Vasselin 3-6, 7-5 in a tight match still under way and Ivo Karlovic plays Alex Bogomolov Jr.
