Alabama still No. 1, KSU 2nd in BCS poll
Alabama hung onto its top spot in the computerized Bowl Championship Series ratings Sunday with Kansas State supplanting Florida at No. 2.
The Crimson Tide — also a unanimous No. 1 choice in the USA Today coaches’ poll — recorded a convincing win over No. 11 Mississippi State Saturday and will next face Louisiana State, ranked fifth in this week’s BCS formula released Sunday.
Florida, meanwhile fell from No. 2 to No. 7 after suffering its first loss of the season at Georgia, with Kansas State grabbing the Gators’ former second spot after a win over Texas Tech.
Notre Dame vaulted into third place after beating nationally ranked Oklahoma, posting a one-thousandth of a percentage point lead over fourth-place Oregon.
Georgia’s victory enabled it to advance four spots to No. 6, with Florida, South Carolina, Florida State and undefeated Louisville rounding out the BCS Top 10.
