Kings of Leon bassist marries

Kings of Leon bassist Jared Followill married girlfriend Martha Patterson in an outdoor ceremony in Charlotte, Tenn., a representative for the band said.

The ceremony took place Saturday, followed by a celebration in a nearby rustic house, People reported.

“They had a great farm-to-table cuisine with all of their favorite things. It was down home and very real. It was very much true to their style,” a guest told People.

Followill joked in a tweet before the wedding, “Today, I get married. It”s the biggest step I”ve ever taken. I”ve dreamed about this day since I was a little girl.”

Patterson added on Twitter, “Marrying my best friend today. I”m the luckiest girl in the world.”

Followill told People in an interview last year he felt pressure as the last member of the band to be married. Brother Nathan married in 2009 and is expecting a child in December, brother Caleb married in 2011 and welcomed a daughter in June, and cousin Matthew is married and welcomed a son in 2011.

“I know it”s stupid,” Followill said, “but you feel pressure in the sense that people are judging you. It goes into your decision-making, like, ”What are my brothers going to think?” I”m not talking about looks obviously, even status, you just have to find somebody that people like because everyone has settled down.”
