Hawk Koch elected Academy president

Producer Hawk Koch has been elected president of Hollywood’s Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

The organization’s board of governors selected Koch Tuesday night. This will be his first term in the office.

Koch’s producer credits include “Losing Isaiah” and “Gorky Park.” He recently served as executive producer on “Source Code” and is executive producer on the upcoming “Very Good Girls.”

The Academy honors the year’s best in film with its Oscars each winter.
