Broderick to appear on ‘Modern Family’

Actor Matthew Broderick is to make a guest appearance on the upcoming season of the U.S. sitcom “Modern Family,” ABC announced Friday.

The star of the film “Ferris Bueller”s Day Off” and Broadway”s “The Producers” will play a neurotic new friend of Ty Burrell”s character Phil, the network said.

Season 4 of the show is to begin next Wednesday.
